A largely attended parade of the Wellington Navals was held at the Drills bed , on the 27th, Lieutenant Bell being in com-, mand, for the purpose of filling the post of Lieutenant-Commander, vacated by Mr J. Duncan, on May 22nd last. C.P.O. Armstrong proposed that Lieutenant Campbell be elected to the position, which wag seconded by C.P.O. Woodger, and carped unanimously. Subsequently Lieutenant* Commanding Campbell took command, and was received with enthusiasm. After thanking the corps for their confidence, he referred in feeling terms to the severance of Lieutenant-Commanding Duncan's connect ion with the corps, and went on to mention several s matters which he considered would be for the welfare of the Company. Lieutenant-Colonel Newall congratulated the Company on the election of Mr Campbell, and said that a good lieuten-ant-commanding had been succeeded by a good lieutenant-commanding. After a minute inspection of the whole Company, including the reserve, he called out each non-commissioned officer to put the men through various infantry movements, with which ha expressed himself as thoroughly satisfied.
