G.F.—“Tho Lady Maud, Schoonor Yacht,” is one of Clarko Russell’s sea stories. You can get it in cloth for about 3s, through any Wellington bookseller. Hardy’s “ Tess of the D’Urbervilles ” is published in Gs and 2s Gd editions. “ Life's Little Ironies,” by the same author, is as yet only to bo procured in a six shilling' edition. Glad you like the Literary Notes. This compilation is a special labour of love for the editor, and he is always pleased to hear they are appreciated. W. J. Carman.— Tho verses on “Hinomoa” aro hardly up to publication mark. You. might re-cast thorn a little and improve them. Try again. S.P., Puketapu, Hawko’s Bay. —The candidate pays an entrance fee for each examination he attempt*, and has to pay special foes when his diplomas are issued to him. The fees vary a good deal, being much heavier at one university than another.
