A telegram from Captain Kennedy, of tho Terranora, informs the Marine Department that he has examined the wreckage supposed to be that of the ill-fated Grecian Bend, and used every possible means to have it removed, but was unsuccessful. The wreckage is three and a half miles off shore, and is almost in tho direct track of vessels trading between Wairoa and Napier. The whole of the railway formation between Eketahuna and Woodville is now in hand and the Government have just decided to call tenders for tho construction of the Mangatainoko bridge, particulars of the plans for which were given some time ago in the New Zealand Times. It will probably cost from £9OOO to £IO,OOO.
