STOCK SALES.

A. G. Taino and Co. report on the markots for tho week ending April 27th : —We have not hold any public stock sales during the past week excopt the Wost Coast Horse Fair at Otaki, on Wednesday last, which attracted a large number of people from all parts, north and south. Owing to tho bad weathor preced* ing tho sale, a number of the horses did not come forward, which, wo regret, as a good number of buyers turned up for good sorts. We yarded altogether about 100 horses, and could have sold a largo number of them if sellers had been disposed to meot tho market, but the reserves placod upon anything like good horses were, inmost instances, far above buyers’ ideas of value, and in consequence a number were turned out unsold. Wo sold a mob of weeds, all ages and from foals upwards, at 17s Gd. Two-year-old draught colts and fillies from iflO to .£l3 10s; unbroken hacks, from £4 to .£8; weedy 2-year-old light horsos, from .£2 12s Gd to .£3 10s ; thoroughbred fillies, two-year-old, J6lllos to jBI3 10s. During the weok we have placed a number of fat cattle privately at 17s Gd per lOOlbs, and have a good domand for more. Fat sheep We have sold wethers, good mutton, at 10s 8d and 10s Gd; fat ewes, 7s 7d, 7s lOd, 8s 3d, 8s Gd, and a good line of store ewes, f.m., at 6s Gd, and have buyers for more. We anticipate a good demand for fat cattle for the South during the winter and spring as they are none too plentiful there. Properties—We have no sales to report this week, but have a number of sales pending, both of town properties and farms. Sheepskins— Country lots, 3d to 4£d per lb; lambskins, to 2s 6d each. Hides—Cow, 7s 6d to 8s 6d; ox, 12s to 14s. Eabbitskins Only a small business doing. We quote Autumns, 7d to 8d; summers, 4d to 6d; suckers, &c., 2d to 3d per lb. Tallow—Best rendered, 203; medium, to good, 17s 6d to 19s; inferior, 12s to 15s per cwt.
