OFFICIAL CALENDAR WELLINGTON RACING CLUB. r IHE New Zealand Mail has been appointed the Official Calendar for the publication of all programmes in the District of Wellington, in terms of Bale 17 of the Bules of Racing. Bule 17 reads:—"The programme of each meeting n which the added money is £IOO or upwards must be advertised in full once at least in the Official Calendar. The advertisement shall show that the programme has been approved by the Jockey Club, shall state the divs on which the meeting is to begin and end, and the names of the stewards, judge, starter, clerk of the scales and handieapper." All notifications for the future published in this column are so published under the authority of the Wellington Racing Club, and are binding on country clubs and others, who must therefore duly note the same. ".PROGRAMMES PASSED : Masterton-Opaki Jockey Club—March 19th Otaki Maori Racing Club—May 24th Wairarapa Racing Club-March 24th and 20th. DISQUALIFICATION. Adam McMorran, disqualified by the Wellington Racing Club for life, and warned oil all Racecourses where the Metropolitan Rules are in force, for striking the rider of Jacob across the bead while riding in the Second Hurdle Handicap at the Wellington Racing Club's Snring Meeting, November 18th, 1893. . LICENSES. The following New Rules, passed as under by the Conference held in November, 1892, came into force on the Ist August, 1893. Trainers, jockeys, and apprentices must make application at once. RULE 167 a. The Metropolitan Jockey Clubs shall issue annual licenses to trainers, jockeys, and apprentices. Only holders of such licenses shall be qualified to tram or rule nnder the " Rules of Racing,'' except that an apprentice may for one month after the date of his first mount in public ride races without holding a license. " Apprentice " shall mean any lad employed in a training stable who has not previously ridden in public.

The fee payable for a trainer's license shall be two pounds, for a jockey's license one pound, and for an apprentice's license ten shillings. 3. On application for a license the applicant shall forward to the Secretary of the Metropolitan Club of the district m which he resides the necessary fee, together with his full name and address. Such application shall be dealt with by the Committee as they may deem fit. The Committee may also suspend or cancel any license, and any person whose license has been withdrawn or suspended on the "•round of misconduct, or of the infringement of the "Rules of Racing," shall not be allowed in any weighing-room, stand, or enclosure during the time his suspension is in force. 4 All licenses issued shall be immediately * published in the " Official Calendar." 5. All licenses shall expire on the .*Ust July in each year. 6. An owner, or trainer, or both, who shall knowingly employ an unlicensed jockey. shall be fined any sum not exceeding twenty pounds each.
