MISSING FRIENDS.

With a view to further increasing the utility of the New Zealand Mail, the Editor has decided to introduce a new feature in the shape of a Missing Friends' column, in which will be published the names of persons for whom their friends are enquiring in the Home weeklies. Enquiries from persons in New Zealand and in the Australian Colonies for information of missing friends will be inserted in this Column at the rate of Is for each insertion. Replies will be forwarded to the Editors of Lloyd's and other papers if desired. All correspondence for this column should be addressed Nkw Zealand Mail, •- Wellington, with the words • Missing Friends * in the left hand top corner. From Lloyd's Weekly Newspaper, April 28. Their brother William is anxious for news of them. .GERRY (NICHOLAS), was last known to be in Christchurch, New Zealand, about 1887. His sister inquires. HOWES (JAMES) left Sprowston, near Norwich, some 50 years back, and was last heard of from Auckland, New Zealand, 25 years ago. Brother Robert. HUBBARD (WILLIAM DANIEL), carpenter, left Hackney for Otago, New Zealand, in 1858; last heard of from the Goldfields, Australia, employed as a barman. Brother George asks. HARVEY (Mrs JOHN) waß last heard from in October, 1889, then living with a Mrs Gould, in Albany street, Dunedin, New Zealand. Her widowed mother and sister Ellen are anxious. KING (BENJAMIN), who came to see his friends in July, 1871, and then returned to New Zealand; no news since. His father and sister Elizabeth long for tidings. Was discharged from the 85th Regiment of Foot, with a pension, and emigrated to New Zealand in 1867, and has not been heard of since.
