The Cabinet have resolved to place on the Estimates a sum of L3OOO for the purchase of Little Barrier Island, Auckland, as a reserve for the preservation of native birds, ine purchase is contingent upon the consent of alt the Native owners being obtained, and uegotia« tions to that end are now in progress.
