THE PRECIOUS METAL AMONG POTATOES. (press association.) Hokitika, May 31. An extraordinary gold find occurred yesterday. Iri washing some potatoes a fair prospect of gold was obtained ; the dirt was then taken out and washed, and found to be payable. The potatoes were grown at Kokatahi, about’ 12 miles from here, and several diggers have gone to the locality.
