RUMOURED RESIGNATION OF THE COLONIAL SECRETARY.
(press association.) Donedin, March 31.
The Star states that the Hon P. A. Buckley will shortly resign and seek election to the House of Commons for an Irish constituency in the Nationalist interest.
[We are informed on the best authority that Mr Buckley has no intention of resigning with the object mentioned in this telegram. Some time ago be received a letter from Home asking if he would stand for an Irish constituency, but he has not committed himself to any pledge on the subject.]
