At the City Council meeting last week, a letter wa" received from the Harbour Board notifying the appointment of a committee to confer with the Council’s committee to-day, and at 11.30 a.m. to wait upon the Premier with reference to the Te Aro Railway extension. Councillor Petheriok explained whv it was the Harbour Board considered it desirable to ask for only a width of 60ft for the street. It was a one sided street, 1.e., only one footpath. The Hoard desired the Council to reconsider its decision in this matter so as to afford them more facilities for working on the eastern side of the street. If the Council liked to play its cards well with the Premier they might get a piece of land vested in them where the present boat harbour is. On the motion of Councillor Vogel it was agreed to recommend that the width of the west side of the street be altered to 60 feet.
