POTATOES.
It is gratifying to know that the information conveyed by this journal with regard to the export potato trade is beginning to bear fruit. Already many up-country settlers are prepariug to test the London market as soon as their potatoes are ready, and several are now busy preparing the packages, such as were recom mended by us in an issue some months back. One farmer in the Manakau district expects to lift his first crop of potatoes about the middle of November, and hopes to get them in London early in January ; while in other localities potatoes will be ready. for shipment in considerable quantities daring the whole of December.
