Enquirer (Inglewood)—lt is not a difficult task to distinguish the male and female blossoms of the cucumber, melon, vegetable marrow or pampkin. The female blossoms are known by the emrbys fruit immediately below them, while the male or barren ones are flowers only on a BimDle stalk usually longer than the others. The male blossoms are also much larger than the female ones.
