A meeting oE those interested in the formation of an Hotel Company was held at the Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday. The chairman, Mr A. A. Barnett, explained the object of the meeting, and the desirability of having more suitable hotel accommodation for tourists and others than at present existed in the olty, and proposed that a company be formed for that purpose. On the suggestion of Mr W. B. Haselden it was decided that those present, viz., Messrs F. Thompson, H. Fielder, W. R. Haselden, A. Young, Turnbull, F, Penty, and A. A. Barnett be appointed a Provisional Committee to prepare a prospectus, &c., and report to a future meeting. The customary vote of thanks to tho chair terminated the proceedings.
