The monthly meeting of the Hntt.County Council was held on Tuesday, there being present—Councillors Darby (chairman), Jillett, \\ akeham, Lancaster, C. \V. Brown, Cook, Speedy, and G. Brown. A letter was read from the Taranaki County Council, enolosing resolutions protesting against the proposed amendment of the Counties Act exempting Native lands from rating, and adopting the one-man-one-vote principle. It was decided to co-operate with the Taranaki Conncil in protesting against the proposed amendment. A letter was received from the Johnsonville Town Board with reference to a break in a culvert on the main road at Johnsonville. The Board declined to acknowledge any responsibility in the matter. It was decided that the Chairman and Councillor Jillett should deal with the question. Plans of the proposed road between Paraparanmu and Woikanae, prepared by Mr Bennett, were laid on the table, and approved. Councillor G. Brown suggested that the offices should bo kept open till 4.50 p m. daily, instead of 3 p.m. as at present. Some of the Councillors objected, and no aotion was taken. Accounts amounting to £134 13s 4d were passed for payment, and the Council adjourned.

If the fortunate partj has previously purchased a piano, at say £SO, he may exchange it for one of £7S 15s, or he can have the balance in cash, and whatever he has paid upon his insticment will be refunded, or if he has bought a piano at a higher price than that to be given away, the Seventy-five Guineas will bo deduoted from the purchase money thereof. We have in stock and in order for our Wellington Branch ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN PIANOS. Purchasers can therefore feel assured of the most ample choice in the selection of an instrument, and AT THE BEST VALUE OBTAINABLE.
