.The Wellington Representative Asssociation Football Team, with the exception of Messrs Henderson and Stevart, returned from Auckland by the Takapuna last Tuesday night. A prominent mamber of the Oriental Football Club, Wm. Morkane, died at the Hospital of brain fever on Tuesday morning. The deceased was much respected, and bla death will be regretted by a large circle of friends. The deceased’s life was insured for £2OO in the Government Life Office. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) . ' . Auckland, October 9. An interesting match is expected to-morrow between the Association football players of Wellington and Auckland. The Auckland team are at a great disadvantage, as they only started playing five weeks ago. but in that time they have displayed some very good form, and, as they have been training hard on the Metropolitan ground during the week, they expect to show good form. AUCKLAND v. WELLINGTON. . . Auckland, October 11. The Association football match between teams representing Auckland and Welfington took place on Saturday at Potter’s grounds, Epsom, and resulted in a win for Auckland by five goals to nil. About 400 people were present. In the first spell Evans secured a goal for Auckland, and the remaining goals were scored in the second spell. Blair kicking two of them, and Thomas and Smith one each. The Aucklanders played throughout with more dash than their opponents, and passed better than the Wellington men, who wanted condition, and were therefore unable to play a fast game,
