THE HINEMOA AT THE SOUNDS.
(PRESS association.) Westport, October 9. Arrived, 1 a.m, —Hinemoa, ss, from Milford Sound via Martins, Jacksons, and Bruce Bays. When Milford Sound was entered on Sunday afternoon the rain was coming down in torrents, and Bowen Fall presented a magnificent sight. A tremendous volume of water, fully one hundred feet wide, was descending, and only once during the last 25 years has Captain Fairchild seen the fall to better advantage. Seventeen prisoners were landed at the prison settle* ment in the Sound, and a similar number are being brought back to Wellington. Since the lost visit of the Hinemoa the health of the camp has been good, and nothing worthy of note has occurred. The Hinemoa leaves to-morrow for Wellington via Stephens Islands, the Frenoh Pass, and Tory Channel,
