NICE POINT IN LICENSING LAW.

(press association.) Palmerston North, Ootober 9. The Resident Magistrate’s Court was occupied yesterday with hearing an information under the Licensing Act against Solomon Abrahams, for acting as a member of the Licensing Committee, and, in conjuotion with the other members, granting a license to the Empire Hotel, of whioh he was part owner. The Resident Magistrate dismissed the information, mainly on the ground that the defendant had transferred his interest to his wife the day preceding the eleotion. Notice of appeal was given.
