By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SAILORS DRIVEN TO SUICIDE. EXTRAORDINARY STATEMENTS BY PASSENGERS. (PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Albany, October 8. The steamer Summerfeld has arrived from Hamburg. Three of the crew died i■a the Red Sea, and two committed suicide by jumping overboard. Two more attempted suicide on arrival here, and were only rescued with difficulty. The passengers, who are mostly English, give an extraordinary account of the treatment suffered on the voyage and the hardships undergone. The diet was insufficient, aud nearly all required medical treatment. They allege that the crew were badly treated, and the men committed suicide to put an eDd to their sufferings.
