S.K., Wnitara.—The verdigris on gilt work can be remeved by applying spirits of ammonia with a camel’s hair brush, and immediately washing it off' with spirits of wine ; if the ammonia is left on it injures the gilding. C.M.K., Wellington.—To clean morocco leather. The best plan is to remove all greasy stains from the leather with turpentine or benzoline well rubbed on with a sponge or piece of flannel. This will remove anything in the shape of dirt or grease, but will not stain. After well washing with turpentine, rub with a clean cloth, and varnish over very thinly with soma white of egg.
