By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. THE DUKE AND THE SINGER. (PER press association.) London, March 25. A sensation has been caused by a story which the Pall Mall Gazette saj’s it publishes on good authority to the effect that the young Duic d’ Orleans had been seen in Paris disguised as a valet to a wellknown singer, lb is generally believed that Madame Melba is meant. London, March 26. The Times states that the Due d’Orleans is at Tiflis, in the Caucasus Provinces. OPINION OF THE TIMES. APPARENT CONFIRMATION OF THE STORY. London, March 28. The Times states that the friends of the Due d’Orleans declare that the rumour published by the Pall Mall Gazette that he was seen in Paris disguised as a lackey is a shameless puff to the Australian singer. Paris, March 28. M. Constaus, Minister of the Interior, has warned the Due d’Orleans that he must quit Paris, aud it is now believed that he is in Brussels. Paris, March 29. Gaulois has published a telegram, professedly from the Due d’ Orleans from Tiflis, denying his appearance in public in Paris with a singer. London, March 30. The St James’ Gazette asserts that the story about the Due d’ Orleans and Madame Melba arose through the latter going to the railway station witft her husband (who is returning to Australia), accompanied by a footman resembling the Due. Hence the mistake made by the Parisian police.
