Bad Breaks.

Bad Breaks in Good Form is the title of a new book for the chastening of society sinners. Some of the ‘ breaks ’ connected are interesting, and may be instructive, as for instance : ‘1? Fanoy waistcoats do Tery well for grooms and politicians. Fight shy of the man with the gaudily-lined overcoat. 2. Savant in French means a learned man. Savon, in the same language, means soap. Don’t insult the former by referring to him as a trained mixture of potash and grease, 3. Six o’clock p.m. is the earliest hour at which the dresssuit may make its appearance. It should always be worn after this hour by married men, and those whose social duties require their mingling in the society of women. 4. In visiting relatives do not feel obliged to attend their church instead of your own. Politeness of this sort is a sort of whack at your own belief, and indicates that yon care more for politeness than for religion. 5. A man whose linen is clean, whose shoes are polished, and whoso hat and necktie are in good condition, need fear no critic. Rusty clothes with the aforementioned, need only brushing to appear like royal purple. 6. Lettuce should never be cut. The leaves can be attacked on the thicker end, rolled dexterously around the fork, and then held in place by a downward spearing motion which impales the rolled leaf. A little practice is all that is required. 7. If you liavo taken a young woman to some place of amusement, and she afterwards suggests that she is hungry, don’t hesitate to tell her that you haven’t the necessary money. A woman who would beg for supper deserves no other rejoinder.’
