HTTHE object of the Directors in disposing B of these shares is to provide additional funds for the extension of the irrigation system projected, and secure the fee simple of the valuable land and water concessions to which the Company is entitled. They also consider that it's now desirable to widen the list of Shareholders, and have, therefore, resolved to offer for public subscription 33,017 shares upon the following terms, viz. j—sb per share on application, and 15s per share in three months from the date of allotment. It is not intended to make further calls upon this special issue, but the Directors reserve the right, to the extent of a farther £4 per etaare (the maximum authorised by the Articles of Association), should it be considered desirable, in the* Company’s interest, at aDy future time to do so ; but no call can be made without 12 months’ notice, nor exceed ten shillings per share, and the SCRIP WILL BE ISSUED ENDORSED TO THAT EFFECT. Applicants have the right, nevertheless, to pay up the shares of this issue to £5 per share at any time they may wish within twelve months from the date of allotment. Their location on the River Murray, upon which they border for some 80 miles, places them in an excellent position for exporting their products cheaply to the seaboard, while it ensures a neverfailing and economic water supply for irrigatlon purposes. The lands acquired are being improved and put in a condition fit for sale and profitable occupancy upon the lines so successfully carried out by- the Messrs Chaffey at “ Etiwanda ” and “ Ontario ” colonies in Southern California, which enables the company to dispose of them to great advantage.
