(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright). ASSASSINATION OF A MINISTER. A SUPPOSED MISTAKE. (per press association.) Sofia, March 28. M. Beltcliff, Minister of Finance, was assassinated in the city to-day while walking with M. Stambuloff. It is believed that it was intended to assassinate M. Stambuloff, and that M. Beltcliff was murdered in mistake. Sofia, March 30. Eighteen arrests have been made in connection with the assassination of M. Beltcliff, Minister of Finance, including M. Karaveloff, formerly Premier under Prince Alexander’s administration. The semi-official press allege that the assassin is a Russian agent, and it is believed that he has made his escape to Servia.
