ACTION AGAINST A TEAM WAY COMPANY.
i (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Dunedin, March 13. In the Supreme Court to-day J. J. Dickie, barber, sought to recover £ISOO damages*-* from the Tramway Company for injuries sustained. ; Dickie was travelling on a car to Caversham, and refused to pay his fare when asked for it. Tbe conductor stopped the oar and pat him off, but as soon as it started Dickie jumped on again. The conductor again asked him for his fare, and was again refused, when he told Dickie he mast leave the car, and he placed his hand on him, Dickie alleged that the conductor had pushed him off, and in swinging round, with one hand holding to the guard rails, Dickie fell under the car, the wheel passing over his hand, whioh had to be amputated. The juryafter three hours’ retirement gave a threefourths verdict for the Tramway Company.
