MARINE DISASTERS.
By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. WRECK OF A*MAN-OF-WAR. THE S.S. FIFESHIRE IN COLLISION. SAD LOSS OF LIFE. (PER press association). London, March 16. The United States man-of-war Falma was wrecked on the Hampshire coast during the recent storm. London, March 17. Intelligence has reached here that the steamer Port Jackson, which left Newcastle (N.S.W.) for London, on January 2, ran ashore on Perrin Island, off the coast of Arabia. She subsequently floated off without having sustained any damage. The steamer Abergeldie, bound from Sydney to Dunkirk, collided with the steamer Fifeshire, which was on a voyage from Port Chalmers to London, off Gravesend to-day. The amount of damage has not been ascertained. The steamer Roxburgh Castle, 1235 tons, was run into by another vessel off the Scilly Isles, and . foundered, 22 of those on board being drowned.
