SENIOR AND JUNIOR FIXTURES. The readjustment for senior and junior matches now stands as follows : SENIORS. April 4th and 11th, No. 1 pitch—Phcenix v. Rivals; No. 2 pitch, Wellington v. Midlands. JUNIORS. March 21st, No. 2 pitoh— Phcenix v. Rivals. March 21st, No. 3 pitch—Wellington v. Midlands. April 4th, No. 3 pitch—Surrey v. Rivals. April 11th, No. 3 pitch Phoenix v. Surrey. April ISth, No. 1 pitoh—Surrey v. Mid. lands. SENIOR CUP. The match between the Wellington and Rival first elevens was commenced on Saturday. The weather was beautifully fine, and the wicket was in splendid order. The Rival skipper won the toss, and sent his opponents into the field. Dryden and Holdsworth opened the batting, and the partnership produced 39 runs, the latter being caught and bowled by Kirker. Fuller followed, but was clean bowled first ball by Kirker. Read partnered Dryden, and the pair added 37 to the total before Read was well caught by Izard. Fowler was the next man, but his stay was only a short one, as he was smartly run out. Lynch then joined Dryden. Both men batted well, and the board showed 120. before Pope bowled Lynch. Coltman, who succeeded Lynch, was bowled with the total at 128. Ramsay helped Dryden, who was playing splendidly, to raise the score to 142, and Barlow, who followed him contributed a useful dozen, the score standing at 179 when the latter was bowled by Kirker. The remaining two wickets added six to the total, the innings closing for 185. Dryden, who had gone in first, carried out his bat with the fine score of 75 to his credit. This is the second time this season Dryden has gone in first, and carried out his bat. He played a fine innings on Saturday, and gave only one chance. Kirker bowled exceedingly well, as the bowling analysis will show. The Wellingtons started their second innings, and had lost one wicket for 15 runs, when stumps were drawn. The Rival-Welliugton heat for the Junior Cup competition was played on No. 3 pitch at the Basin Reserve on Saturday afternoon, resulting in a win, after a very exciting game, for the former team by 2 runs. The Rivals inningsrealisedß7, F. Luckie showing good form for his score of 32. Luxford and Liddle (10 each) also batted well. The Wellingtons had lost nine wickets for 79 when Bethune, the last man, joined Meek, who was batting very steadily. The latter batsman drove his first from Dryden to the off for 3, Bethune also following suit, but Dryden had his revenge, for he clean bowled Meek with his next ball, leaving the Rivals victors by 2 runs. For the losers Meek (26), Erskine (11), and Poutawera (10) played sound cricket for their runs. Parsons and Dryden trundled well for Ithe Rivals, Bethune and Erskine sharing the bowling honors for the Wellington’s, The scores are as follow;

The Rival-College heat for the third class championship was concluded on Saturday the former team winning by eight wickets. The College second innings batting two men short, realised. 92 before they were all disposed of. McGovern 18, Morrah 17, Hannay 12, succeeded in reaching double figures. The Rivals had 52 to win, which they did for the loss of two wickets, Warner Inj’ing the wood on for his score of 27 (not out), and Liddle 15 also batted well. For the Rivals Ashdown and Oswin bowled well, Hannay and Bee dividing the bowling honours for the College. The Phoenix-Wellington heat for tlie third clas3 championship was played at,the College ground on Saturday afternoon, resulting in a win for the former team by six wickets. The Wellingtons first innings only realised 14, the batting being two men short. The Phcenix in their first attempt succeeded in putting on 61 before they were all disposed of, Waters 21, Gilbert 11, Fordham aud Stevens 10 each, being the double figure scorers. The second innings of the Wellingtons closed for 65, Harrap 21, Callis and Page 11 evch batted well for their runs. This left the Phcenix 18 to win, which they succeeded in doing for the loss of four wickets. For the winners Waters and Fordham bowled well. Harrap and Bethune did the lion’s share of the bowling for the losers.
