(per press association.) London, March 5. The Bishop of Down has \ irtually excommunicated the supporters of Mr Parnell. London, March 9. Mr Parnell is advising the Irish working classes to join with the English working classes in seeking to obtain an alteration of the laws, and thus remove the oppressions which exists in many industries. Mr Balfour’s fund for tne relief of Irish distress has reached L 90,000. It has been ascertained that there are only L9OOO to the credit of the Evicted Tenants’ Fund in the h;mds of Paris bankers inst-.ad of L 30,000 as was supposed. Parnell’s delegates left Queenstown for America in a storm of hisses. His supporters retaliated, and a riot followed. The Americans are said to be unlikely to help either party. (special to press association London, March 4. Mr Harrison, M.P. for Tipperary, has seized the National League fur.ds at Belfast on behalf of Mr Parnell. London, March 6. Two Protestant clergymen at Arklow, County Wicklow, have been imprisoned for 14 days for holding open-air services. Mr Parnell intends to interfere at the general election in the English constituencies possessing Irish votes. London, March 7. The Freeman’s Journal is appealing for funds in aid of the Parnellite cause. London, March 8.
Mr Parnell and Mr Justin Macaithy have agreed to devote the funds of the Irish party in the hands of Paris bankers to the relief of distressed tenants.
