THE TE AROHA SEAT.
A WRIT SERVED ON MR. ALLEN. (per PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, Febrnary 27. Mr W. Fraser paid a visit to Mr W. S. Allen at Annandale, and delivered the Te Aroha election writ in person. After a little conversation Mr Allen invited Mr Fraser to take lunch, Mr Fraser accepting the invitation, after which Mr Fraser left for home. Mr Allen’s committee give a welcome to Mr Allen and a dianer in the Palace Hotel to. night. Later. It transpires that the correct story of the meeting between Messrs Fraser and Allen is as follows : On Wednesday, the 25th, Mr Fraser called on Mr Allen at the latter’s residence, Annandale, introduced himself, and was invited to remain to dinner, which he did. After an hour and a half he asked Mr. Allen to have a private interview, when he said he had a painful duty to perform, and thereupon served him with the petition notice. Mr Allen said nothing, and Mr Fraser took his departure at once.
