OBITUARY.
(per press association.) Auckland, September 29. Mr R. C. Barstow, a pioneer colonist, died suddenly yesterday at his house at Epsom of heart disease. For many years Mr Barstow was the Resident Magistrate in the Auckland district as successor to the late Captain Beckham, afterwards retiring from that office on a pension. He was a Director in several public companies. Mr Barstow arrived in Auckland in 1843.
Hawera, September 30. The death ia announced of Mr Daniel Climie, oivil engineer, well known in connection with the Wellington drainage soheme and the first survey of the Welling-ton-Manawatu railway.
