Application for a claim and area of ground, by Robeiv Newman, was granted, subject to ii net interfering with existing rights. Mr C. H. Mills appeared for the applicant. A was granted to E. H. Beere, subject to permission being obtained from the Pelorus Road Board to cross the road. Mr C. H. Mills for applicant. The stone is going north 3£ft wide, showing gold freely in the face. Remarks.—Since the return has been received Inkermans have hardened ; buyers are now at 22s Gd per share. The share market has been dull for the week, but a few transactions have taken place. The Globe declared a dividend of Is, payable ou Monday. Reefton, July 1. The Merrijigs Company have purchased a battery of fifteen head of stampers and one berdaa for £IOO. Water rights have also been secured. Tho National Company bad a small crushing at tbe School of Minas. Tha yield was equivalent to Goz 12dwt per ton. Tha Company have a well-defined reef of 12 to IS inches thick, and a trial crushing of 50 tons will take place iu a few weeks at the Big River battery. Reefton, July 2. Tbe Alpine cleaned up yesterday with a result of 3220 z of retorted gold for the month, equal to about ISdwts to the ton.
