Haytou, 92 days from LoudoD, bringing 1564 tons of cargo for this port. She had very unsettled weather while crossing the Southern Oc an, the wind being from north to southeast. Off the Cape of Good Hope she met a heavy S.E. gale with high seas, which lasted three days. She had one of her boats smashed and lost the fore-topsail and sustained other damage in the gale.

The U.S.S. Co’s ss Hauroto arrived along, side the wharf yesterday week from the South. She left Dunedin on the 22nd, Oamaru on the 23rd, Timaru on the 24th, and Lyttelton at 9.35 pm on Wednesday, arriving here as above. She experienced fine weather along the coast. Sha sailed for Sydney at 7 pm. The K.M S. Rimutaka, which left on Saturday for Lyttelton, took about 15,000 carcases of frozen meat from Wellington. She will take her final departure from Lytteiton on the 10th July. The barque Lebu left Liverpool for Wellington on the 25th April. About that time the barque Kenmore wsb also loading at Liverpool for this port. The U.S.S. Co’B ss Wairarapa, from Melbourne, via Southern ports, berthed along, side the Queen’s Wharf at 7 on Friday morning. She left Melbourne on the 18th, Bluff on the 23rd, Dunedin on the 25th, and Lyttelton at 5.30 pm on Friday. She sailed shortly after 5 same evening for Sydney, via East Coast ports. On Friday last the U.S.S. Go’s ss Cairntoul was re named the Taieri, after the river of that name in Otago. The U.S.S. Co’s ss Tekapo left the Circular Quay, Sydney, at 1 am on the 22nd inst and passed through the Heads at 2 am. Made the New Zealand coast at 7 am on Friday aud had Cape Farewell abeam at 10.30 am. Stephen’s Island was passed at 5 pm, and she arrived here at 1 next morning. For two days after leaving she experienced fresh westerly winds, and thence to arrival strong easterly winds wi’h high sea. She brings 54 tons of cargo for Wellington. The barque Windstrant, now at Melbourne, has been chartered by the New Zealand Shipping Company to load here for Melbourne. She is expected to arrive here shortly. The barque Polykarp, hound for New York with a oargo of flax, left the harbour on Saturday afternoon.

The R.M.S. Rimutaka took her departure for Lyttelton shortly after 5 o’clock on Saturday evening. On Monday afternoon the U.S.S. Co’s ss Mawhera was towed round to the Slip to be overhauled. < The R.M.S. Kaikoura, which left Plymouth on Saturday, is due in New Zealand on the 10th August. The U.S.S. Go’s fine steamer Monowai arrived from Sydney via Auckland and East Coast ports at 8.15 am on Alondav. She left Sydney at 3 pm on the 20th June, Auckland on the 27th, Gisborne 2Sth, and Napier at 3 pin on Sunday, arriving here as stated. She took her departure for Alelbourne, via Southern ports, at 9 the same night, with a large number of passengers on board. During the afternoon and evening the steamer was thrown open to the public, and she was visited by hundreds of admiring spectators. When the steamer Monowai was at Gisborne, the purser, Mr R Guy, who has been transferred to the Wairarapa, waa enter, talned at a champagne luncheon by his brother offioers, and presented with an address expressive of their regret at his departure from the vessel. The position of purser of the Monowai is now filled by Mr J. Ness Keith, formerly of the Mararoa, whose place has been filled by Air Taylor, late of the Wairarapa.

The U.S.S. Co’s ss Manapouri, with -EagUsh and Australian mails, arrived at the Bluff at Bam on Tuesday. The maiis'wtii reach here to-day.

The U.S.S. Co’e ss Takapuna left Onehunga at 5.30 on Monday, New Plymouth at 8.30 am on Tuesday, and arrived hero at 2 *■« Wednesday morning. She experienced fine weather to Taranaki, theDce strong southerly winda and high sea to arrival. The ship Westland has taken in the beat part of her cargo of flax and tallow, and she will probably get away for London about the end of next week.

The U.S.S. Co’s ss Manapouri, from Melbourne, via South, will not arrive here until Saturday. She will leave the same day for Sydney, via Auckland and East Coast.

ARRIVAL OF THE lONIC. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Port Chalmers, June 30. The s.s. lonio arrived at the Heads at 7.30. a.m., and anchored until 11.40 a.m., arriving at the wharf at 1 p.m. She brings 2300 tons of cargo, 1000 being for Dunedin, 3 bags and 1 packet of mail, IS cases parcels post, and 60 paesengers, which are being transhipped to the Penguin. The personnel of her officers is unchanged, with the exception of Dr Wright who has succeeded Dr Dwyer. One death occurred, a child five months old, named Glackin. on the 19th June, from bronohitis. The lonic dates are —Plymouth 17th May; Teneriffe, 22nd; Capetown, 7th June ; Hobart, 26th. The following is a list of her Wellington passengers : —Misses M. Butler, N.
