A Pretty Dove Story.
* Nikita,’ the popular young singer, tells a pretty dove story. While she was staying in Prague last winter, she saw from her hotql window a poor dove imprisoned between twoange'.’a wings, belonging to the statuary on the Great Tower there, and struggling painfully. She sent to the Mayor, the chief Commissary of Police, and other officials, to save the bird, but none would bestir himself, and it was only some admiring members of the Fire Brigade who volunteered to save her feathered proteg4. They brought ladders, and a young workman scrambled up and rescued the 1 ird, to receive a diamond ring from the kind-hearted singer. She tended tho dove for a week and let it fly, but three days after she left Prague it came back to the hotel and stayed theie. The proprietor took care of it, and, on the conclusion of the Russian tour on which she has just embarked she intends to call for it, and keep it with her cats aud other pets.
