CITY COUNCIL.
The report of the Public Works Committee, to be presented at the meeting of tbe City Council last evening, is as follows -The Committee beg to recom.mqud —Tfiat the water main in Adelaide road be extended fro.m Duppa street southward ; that the work of covering in the Tasman street' stream (see clause No. 1 of last report) be proceeded with at once ; that a pipe drain be laid in Horner street; that the application for leave to excavate and remove earth from the end of Hanson street, for the purpose of filling in Section 923, be acceded to on the applicants making a deposit of LSO, to ensure the work being done in the.-mariner set out by the City Surveyor ; that consent he given to the erection of a verandah in Adelaide road, as applied for’ by ‘Mr SWilliams; that consent hq given' to tlie transfer of the lease of ” Section 3,‘ Block IV., of Mangahao la-fid, from Job Yilp to Jacob Horioni and Alfred Devautiur. That the matter of the proposed cutting inßp.ulcptt street fie. referred to the Councillors for Lambtop, Ward for report to next meeting of the Committee ; that the Fire Brigade Com-, niittee be requested to take info consideration the retire s pqtatioxis made ty members of the Brigade with reference to ffie reconstruction of same,' and to report to, nest meeting of the Committee ; that the offer of Mr W- Teversham to tar the Hutt Bridges be not accepted ; that the claim of Mr F. W e bb, for alleged injury to his horse through a fall in Clyde be nof admitted ; that a fortnight’s extension of time be granted to hfr A. Maguire for completion of his To. Aro reclamation Contract V that accounts amounting to, LBBU Ss lO.d be passed for payment.
