THE CEMETERY QUESTION.

We are glad to see that the City Council have at last come to some definite arrangement about a cemetery. A site of about 95

acres has been secured at Karori, at a price of L4OOO, subject to satisfactory arrangements being completed for the making of a road between Polhill-gully and Bakers-hill as an approval to the site. We think the Council have acted wisely in taking the present site offered. Karori is pre-eminent, as we have so often explained, on account of its equi-distance from the two extremes of the city. And now that the long delayed vexed question has been settled, we trust no time will be lost in getting the site into proper condition for its ultimate use.
