The Revolution in Brazil. —Fired no doubt (says the Montreal correspondent of the Daily News) by the ease with which the revolution has been carried out m Brazil, quite a number of French papers, Including the Patrie, the Lecteur Canadien and Evenement, declare in favour of a Canadian Republic. The Montreal Herald, the chief organ of the Dominion Opposition says that the English people are alow to make constitutional changes, but adds that it is unsafe to say what the force of example and increasing intercourse between Great Britain and America might not do. The article then goes on to speak of “ the impetus that such a change might give to the train of thought that leads thinkers to the conclusion that it is nearly time that Canada busied herself about her own independeuce. Australia, which is a baby among nations, 13 already considering the propriety of establishing an Australian nation.”
