RAM SALE.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Napier, February 6. At the Ram Fair to»day 1800 sheep were yarded. Owing to the large supply aud the length of the catalogue, bidding became sluggish at the end of the day, but over 1200 were sold. Biddiug was irregular, aud prices on ths whole not quite so good as last year, aged sheep being unsaleable. Woolled rams were neglected, the run being more in favour of strong woolled sheep than in former years. Romney Marsh were sluggish and there was a demand for Down sheep. The highest price given was guineas for a sheep bred locally by DilloD, of Rantangata ;!the next 31 guineas for a ram bred by H. B. Russell, Waipukarau. The principal imported
lots sold as follows :—Reid, Oamaru — Average stud rams, £l7 15s 9d ; flock, £5 4s 7d ; general average, £6 16s. Menlove, Oamaru—Stud, £ll 5s 9d ; flock, £4 lSssd ; general average, £5 2s Bd. M. Holmes, Oamaru —Stud only, average £l7 12s 6d. A considerable number of imported sheep were sold before the sale.
