WRECK OF AN AUCKLAND VESSEL.

(per press association.) Auckland, February 10. The Auckland-owned schooner Daisy was wrecked at Haipai, in the Friendly Group, on January 18. The vessel was driven on to the Konto reef in a fierce squall, and shortly afterward broke up. Those ou board, and the captain and the six men who composed the crew, were saved, and reached Haipai in a whaleboat after a severe experience. They lost most of their effects. Captain Soweth sold the wreck to some of the Haipai natives. The Daisy was one of Messrs McArthur and Co.’s fleet of Island trading vessels, 53 tons, and was built at Whangaroa.
