ATTACKED BY AN OCTOPUS
(PER I ,p^ s association.) , Timaru, January 20. Diver Collin, working under about 20ft of water on Saturday at a Blipway, was seized by an octopus of 6ft 6in spread, which also got hold of the timbers of the ship. Co ‘ llS had the presence of mind, on seeing the creature coming, to extend his arms aim avoid having them pinned, and he was able, though with difficulty, to pull himself away by the life-line, and walk to and climb his ladder with the octopus around him.
