THE CONVERTED ATHLETE.

(PER. PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Christchurch, September 6. The Ministers’ Association has held three meetings as to G. T. Sullivan, the converted athlete. At the first a deputation was appointed to wait on him and ascertain certain facts in connection with his career and antecedents. Sullivan, however, declined. The ministers then offered him a second chance of making an explanation, but he still declined. The ministers met again this afternoon, and as Sullivan still declined to make the required explanation they decided to publish the facts within their knowledge, and leave the public to judge for themselves. In the meanwhile they passed a resolution that they cannot recognise Sullivan under the circumstances.
