The Times this morning, in an article dealing with affairs in Crete, states that the fleets of Great Britaiu, Austria, and Germany will shortly set up a blockade tnere, in order to prevent the lauding of arms and money from Athens. . The Times, in an article upon the European situation, indicates that it is the intention of both Austria and Germany to ask at an eariy period whether Russia means war, or will maintain a peaceful attitude. All the counsel retained for the defence in The-Timea- Parnell Commission have withdrawn from the case. The action caused some remarks to be made from the Bench. Sir James Hannen, the President, remarked : “ ¥e cun do without their assistance, and Mr Parnell has no right to dictate conditions to the Court. Sir H. James, one of The Times’ counsel, is continuing the crosseiamination of Mr O’Kelly. The Pall Mall Gazette slates that the Western Australian Constitution Bill is an Imperial job, and declares that the House of Commons must oppose it, unless the boundary of the colony is curtailed south and east.
