This week we complete our publication of the remarkable correspond-
THE EISHFR PAPERS.
ence relative to Mr Fisher’s retirement from the Ministry. The only portion we omit is one which consists of references to the private concerns of certain Auckland people in connection with a subordinate officer in the Customs whom Mr Fisher accused —erroneously, as is shown—of inspiring the Premier’s action against him. As these references are proved to be wholly irrelevant to the question at issue, and would necessarily give pain to persons eutirely unconnected with the case, we have nob published them. Otherwise the correspondence is given in exbenso. Its perusal bp any unprejudiced reader can hardly fail to. result in the conclusion that the Premier completely and crushingly establishes his case against Mr. Fisher, and that Mr Fisher totally fails to answer it in any particular.
