Melbourne Post-office Clock. The clock-tower at the Melbourne General Postoffice is now (June 20th) nearly completed, and one of the four dials has been placed in position upon the outer eastern face of the tower. The work was accomplished yesterday in the presence of Mr Finlay, an inspector, and Mr T. C. Hodgkinson, who has charge of the work in the interests of Messrs Goss and Masson, contractors. The construction of the dials has been undertaken by Messrs P. Johns and Co. The dials are 14ft 6in in diameter. The places where figures usually stand are supplied by electroplated discs, which.at night will be lit with eleotrio lights of at least 40 candle power. These will enable the clock to be seen from a great distance.
