London, May 12. Mr Reeks, of Sydney, purposes building a yacht to compete for the America Cup. Dunedin, May 12. At a well-attended meeting last night it was decided to hold an Exhibition regatta about the 14th of February, and committees wire appcintel to carry out the arrangement. It was decided to offer a prize of £IOO for a pulling race with the view of inducing intercolonial competition, but tne class of boats was left over ; also to over prizes of not less than £SO and £4O for fir®* l and second class yachts respectively, the method of classification being also left over. Aquatics.—W. W. Buddock, the beatbuilder, of San Francisco, has just completed a boat for O Connor, to be used in the coming race, which may be classed as a marvel
in the line of sheila. Her dimensions are . Length, 31ft 6in ; beam, 11 Jin ; depth, GJin; aft, IJiu ; fotvvard, 2§in ; keel camber, 1 Jin aft ; forward, Sin. She ia rigged with Meaney rollers and Davis rowlocks und shoes, with cold drawn steel seamless pipe outriggers, and will weigh, fully rigged, about 27Ub.
