Gallant.—'The contract for extending feho present tunnel 200fb to foot of winze lias been let to Isaac Anning and party. Triumph.—Tenders have been called for driving a tunnel of 250 ft, to close on Saturday next. It is expected .that this tunnel will cut three lines of reefs, all gold-bearing. Scotia.—The Mine Manager reports— Since taking charge 'of your mine I have opened the main level loft before the solid was got. This arose from the fact of its having run a little and could get at stone without making a short detour ; also on to the reef for a of 3ft. The width of the reef is at the present time 3ft at the bottom of drive and 2ft at the top, carrying good payable o-old. Would tecomaiend the tramway to be made at once, so as to have use of paddock as soon a 3 possible. Britannia.—The Mine Manager reports 1 have, by careful prospecting, succeeded in finding a reef, from which I can get encouraging prospects. It appears to be of good width and m solid country. As I have only just discovered it I cannot give further information. I may, however, state that I have found other reefs, but with the exception of one leader I did not find any gold. There appears to be a good many reefs m this locality. Globe —The battery returns are 5530 z of retorted gold from 735 1 tons of stone. The Mine Manager reports that the etone is looking remarkably well m the slopes, as does also the face at both ends. A dividend of Is has been declared, Keep-it-Dark.—Crushing has been resumed, and the monthly cleaning up will be done on Saturday next. Multum-in-Parvo. —The mine manager reports :—For tho last nine weeks a dsstance of 95ft has been driven on the line of reef, carrying quartz the whole way. There is a little gold all the way, from 3in to Bin. From all appearances I think a good reef will be got very soon. Golden Treasure.—The Mine Manager reports—Stuping has been continued over the little tunnel that was driven by the late company. From this point 128 tons of stone has been sent to the battery, of which 84 has been crushed. We have opened an intermediate level oOft lower down the winze, which is now m a distance of 21ft. The average width of the reef is the same, 3ft. When this level is sufficiently opened I hope to be able to keep 15 heads going a long time. *rom the 84 tons of stone crushed lOooz odwts of retorted gold was obtained. Inglewood—sßoz of amalgam has been obtained from 50 tons-top only. This result was obtained from two shifts. Empress— 2oft has been driven for the ■week. Water i 3 now coming in from the fa< Lone Hand—No change ; 20ft has been driven on line of reef for the week. Merrijigs—Still driving ; water is coming in. _, , Inkerman —The Mine Manager reports that the reef is now looking very well, both for size and quality, m all the faces.
