The ss Coptic, frorii Plyiriouth, via Cafie* town and Hobart; arrived at 8 thi3 morning: She brings 1734 tons of cargb, 61 passengers, 7 bags mails, aud 20 cases parcel post; Criptain Bilrton, R. N;R:, is still in command j ih her other officers, there has been a slight change. MrKempson, her late chief officer, has been transferred to the R.M.S, Celtic, and Mr Uuwortii, of the Celtic, has taken his place ; Dr MoAscar succeeds Dr Humphrey, imd Mr Hayes comes in place of Mr Thornton as fourth officer. The Coptic landed 55 passengers and 184 tons of cargo at Hobart. She left Plymouth at 0.37 pm on the 23rd March, aud Teneriffe at 6.50 pm on the 28th ; had light winds until crossing the Equator on 4th April, long lO’lO ; thence fresh head winds to Capetown, at 3 am on the 14th ; left again at 10. 47 am snpieday. Encountered strong N-E- gaie for two days, follpwrd by N. W, wind, with occasional snow squalls, aud arrived at Hobart at 8.50 pm on 2nd May; left at 11.55 am 3rd, and had strong westerly winds with high sea to arrival.
