HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR.

New Zealand has a new Governor. Lord Onslow, who arrived in Wellingfcon yesterday afternoon, fis the fourteenth insucces-

sion of the New Zealand Governors. He met with as loyal and cordial a reception at the hands of the citizens of Weilingfcon as any of his predecessors. Lord and Ladv Onslow have come‘to sojourn for some years among people who arc fully prepared to accord to them a most hearty personal greeting, apart from the loyal enthusiasm with which every representative of the Sovereign is received at the Seat of Government in this distant possession of Her Majesty. It will be the earnest desire of everyone in this city that the stay of Lord and Lady Oiis'loav among us shall be a thoroughly pleasant and happy one, and we are convinced that we give expression to the feelings of all our readers in bidding our new Governor and his family Welcome to Wellington.
