Reception of the Governor. —On Friday the Town Clerk sent invitations to the representative 3 of Masonic Lodges and Friendly Societies, the Chairman of the Harbour Board and other persons, to meet the Mayor in hiß room on Monday for the purpose of considering details in connection with the reception of Lord Onslow. We understand that the Mayor’s ball will be held at the Garrison Hall on the 24th of May (the Queen’s Birthday). At the meeting of the Harbour Board yesterday week, the Chairman remarked that Lord Onslow was coming overland to Wellington, and that, in consequence, the Board would probably not consider ill necessary to take any action in connection with his reception. This was apparently the feeling of the Board, and nothing was done in the matter.
