Calcutta. April 25. Tbe British expedition to Sulymah River destroyed Windeb, the capital, and released 3000 prisoners. Cairo, April 28. News has reached here to the effect that the dervishes who were recently reported to have reached Saras, are now marching southward. The quarrel between tbe Orangemen and Tories of Liverpool has been compromised. Zanzibar, April 29. Captain Wissman, who is in command of the German operations on the eastern coast of Africa, has occupied and destroyed the rebel position at Bagamoyo, with 325 of bis troops. Capetown, April 29. Dinizulu, son of Cetewayo, who rose against the English last year, has been tried on charges of murder and rebellion'. Fourteen charges of mur der were withdrawn, but on the other counts tbe Zulu chief was found guilty, and sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment. The R.M.S. Ruapehu leaves here tomorrow on her outward voyage. The steamer was delayed here fitting a new blade to her propeller. Cairo, April 29. It is rumoured that El Senoassi’s lieutenant has caDtured Khartoum, and that the Mahdi has fled. Calcutta, April 29. In consequence of the defiant attitude of the Thibetan Lamas it has been deemed advisable to reinforce the troops in |Sikkim, and the 32nd Pioneers will be sent to Gnatong.
