The heat for second-class yachts in thq Port Nicholson Yacht Club’s handicap races was sailed on Saturday afternoon. There was a moderate breeze at the start, which fell away steadily during the race until it had dropped almost to a calm. It was noticable, however, that, notwithstanding this fact, some of the vessels carried topsails. Mr W. Widdop, who acted as starter and judge, punctually at 2.30 got the boats away

as follows Pet (soratch), Dream (3min), Red Jacket (lOmin). Tho time of arrival was—Pet, 4h 16min 40sec ; Dream, 4h 17min 22aec ; Red Jacket, 4k 26min 30sec. The Dream therefore secured first place on her time allewanoe, the Red Jacket beating the Pet by lOaec for second place.
