HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
An ordinary meeting of the Hospital Trustees was held on Tuesday. Present — Messrs F. H. Fraser (chairman), Allen, Kebbell, Taylor, Luke, Rev Mr Yan Staveren, and Dr Newman, M.H.R. The Chairman stated that the donation of ten guineas from Mrs Levin, sen., for the children’s ward, had been received and acknowledged. The Committee’s solicitor (Mr Quick) advised that two trustees must be elected by the contributors, and one each by the local authorities contrifiuting—the Wellington City Council, and Hutt and Horowhenua County Councils ; and the remaining four to make up nine, by deputies appointed by the local bodies named. The Secretary to the Aged Needy Home Trustees wrote declining, on behalf of his Board, to pay one-fourth of the cost (L3l) of passing the Wellington Asylum, Home, Hospital and Orphanage Reserves Act, 1888. It was decided to refer the letter back to the Trustees with a view' to reconsideration. The House Committee’s report, dealing with routine matters, was received and approved. A report by the Leases Committee in connection with the disposal of leases was also adopted, arid it was decided to subiriit all'properties to auction instead of. privately. The Committee appointed to report upon the proposed puerperal' fever ward, ’'submitted plans and'specifications, proposing to build the ward at 'the corner of the pretent fever ward, facing north. This report was adopted, and it was decided to call for tenders for the work.
